Severe Weather Awareness Day (SWAD) is a free event organized by the National Weather Service in Nashville, TN, and Trevecca Nazarene University. It aims to promote severe weather safety and preparation, especially as we approach peak severe weather season. The event welcomes weather enthusiasts of all ages and features meet-and-greets with TV meteorologists from local Nashville stations throughout the day.
Anthony Taylor, Head of Upper Cumberland Weather, brought me along to be the photographer for his booth on this day! His job is to notify people during all weather events good or bad 24/7. He has truly been a huge help to our community with his platform for years and I'm proud to call him my brother!
This is the first big event I've ventured to with my camera by my side. Throughout the day I got to see behind the scenes of (SWAD) and also all of the popular local TV meteorologists. I was excited to get my gear out and start capturing all of the moments! At this time I was still fresh to using my camera so many of the photos that were taken did not make the cut haha, however the one thing that matters is that the moments that did make the cut were the absolute best!
